Non-Stick Frying Pan Buying Guide
Now that it’s time to buy a new non-stick frying pan, it’s time to start looking for one. And while there are many different types of frying pans, the first thing you should do is as yourself some questions to determine and narrow down the type of pan you’ll want to be looking at, and what kind of features it’ll have to have in order to work for you.
What size pan do you want to buy?
The first question to ask is, what size pan do you want to buy? And in order to answer this question, you’ll have to ask another few questions. How many people will you be cooking for? What exactly will you be cooking in this frying pan?
These questions are all important in determining the type of pan you’ll need. If you’re anticipating cooking for a large group of people or your family, you probably don’t want an eight inch pan. However, if you are going to be making things like crepes or omelets, than you’ll need a pan specifically for these types of foods.
What kind of stove you have?
Another question you’ll need to ask yourself is what kind of stove you have? Some pans are made with metals that aren’t compatible with all stove types. This is especially pertinent if you have an induction stove. Induction cook tops heat up the metal of the pan directly, whereas other stoves such as gas or electric heat up the stove top. Some types of metals don’t work with induction stoves, so if you have one you’ll definitely want to make sure you’re buying the right kind of pan. For induction stoves, you’ll want to avoid aluminum, copper, or glass. Make sure you buy a magnetic based pan, such as cast iron or magnetic stainless steel.
Customer Reviews
Customer reviews are a great way to figure out exactly the quality of the item you’re intending to purchase. Once you think you’ve made a good choice in your frying pan, take a look at the customer reviews. Sometimes a product will seem amazing but in all actuality be faulty in some way that you’ll not want to deal with.
And finally, you’ll also want to look at price point. It doesn’t matter if the reviews are amazing and the product has great specs if it’s well out of your price range. Make sure you keep an eye on price while browsing so you don’t end up falling in love with a frying pan that you won’t be able to afford.
